word for the day, 06 11 2016, Proverbs 22:1, A good name

(Today’s word respectfully submitted by Minister Donna-Marie Francis-Life Tabernacle- AFB-Kingston, Jamaica)

It is Saturday, June 11th. Preparation Day

Listen to the word of God to us today

“A GOOD NAME is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold”. (Proverbs 22:1)

A name is a word by which a person or thing is known. Are we known as good or evil, optimistic or pessimistic, godly or devilish?

It is not always wise to have a “couldn’t care less” attitude to what others think about us. We should listen, evaluate their opinion then commit to right any wrong with God’s help. We should be more careful to do what will enable us to get and keep a good name, than to obtain riches.

PRAYER: Jehovah, thank you for being a Good God. Your name reflects your character. Lord, as we bear the name of Christ please transform us to reflect your godly character. Give us a desire not only to be Rich in Cash but also to be Rich in Character. This we ask in Jesus’ Name. Amen

THOUGHT: CASH is no substitute for CHARACTER so let’s treat others with Dignity and not with Disregard.
