word for the day 06 21 2015, Matthew 7:9-11, Happy Fathers Day

Happy happy, happy Father’s day to all.

(Today’s word 6-21-2015, respectfully submitted anonymously.)

Adam. Noah. Abraham. Isaac. Jacob. Moses. David. Job. Joseph. GOD. Take a moment to reflect on the huge impact the aforementioned men have made on Christianity and the world. We will come back to them…

Matthew 7:9-11 “Which of you if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (NIV)

Fathers, father figures, community leaders… the Lord our God did not make us perfect. In fact, it is written that we are all evil, including those great men of God listed above. But look at all they have accomplished to the glory of God! Fatherhood, parenthood and leadership are very intimidating tasks but fear not, because God will never lead you somewhere he is not prepared to take you; allow his love and wisdom to guide you. And remember, God does not call for us to hit home runs all nine innings; the men above were far from faultless, but they were able to make substantial contributions to our Fathers kingdom. Let us be strengthened by their example and remember our legacy is a simple ask away!

Prayer for the day – Father in heaven, I accept the challenge of greatness. I’m available to you and I will substitute practicalities for supernatural. You’ve done it before and you will do it again. It will all be made possible in Jesus name. Amen.
