word for the day 03 30 2015, Mark 11:17, A HOUSE OF PRAYER

It is Monday, March 30th. It is holy week Monday. I miss Easter season in Jamaica. This time of the year is usually very special. When it is Easter time you almost feel it in the air. We know we cannot go back, but we do look back at times like these and think of how things were truly different.

Listen to the Word of the Lord

Mark 11:17And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the HOUSE OF PRAYER? but ye have made it a den of thieves.” (KJV) (upper case letters my emphasis)

As we celebrate Easter/Holy week, one of the first things that Jesus did on this week was clean up the temple and rebuke those who use the temple for profit, and as a marketplace. His word to those present is still true today. We need to get back to making his house a place of prayer. We do a lot of singing, and talking, let us do a lot of praying too.

Prayer for the day: “Father in heaven, we truly bless your name. Help us to truly make your house, A HOUSE OF PRAYER. This we pray in Jesus name, Amen.”
