word for the day 02 17 2015, 1 Peter 5:6, Humility before God

It is Tuesday, February 17th. TGFT. It is snowing again here in the northeast. I am looking forward to spring.

Listen to the word of God to us today.

1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” (NIV)
We need humility to serve God. We cannot serve God in our pride. Salvation starts with humility. We have to submit to God in obedience to his prescription for our sins. Each day we must continue to submit to God in obedience to his word. There is a blessing in our submission to God, he will lift us up in due time. Remember, God is our creator, maker, redeemer and our KING, let us therefore humble ourselves before him, and receive his help in time of our need. Amen

Prayer for the day:– Father, we humbly come before you today and ask that you will help us know that you are God, and that you are worthy, and deserve our adoration and our worship. This we pray in JESUS name. Amen.
