word for the day 10 14 2014, Ecclesiates 11:8, Birthday Medz

Word of the day, Tuesday, October 14th 2014: Written by Charlise Washington

Today is a special day indeed. Today is the day our Father God in Heaven blessed us with a father, husband, grandfather, co-worker, brother, son, elder, son-in-law, uncle, friend who can count as many years on this earth as there are minutes in an hour. Happy Birthday to my dear dad, Charles Washington! Congrats on this big milestone and thank you for living your life as a true testament to the purpose God has for our lives.

The bible states in Ecclesiastes 11:8, “So if a person lives many years, let him rejoice in them all”

There is no doubt that my dad has lived many years- 60- and can truly say that he is rejoicing in this fact. Our hearts are still very heavy from the death of the matriarch of our family, Mother Clarke, but let us be reminded that where there is death there is hope. This time has been one of reflection; and in reflecting on the wonderful life Mother Clarke lived, we should be encouraged to live similar lives of faith, obedience, hope, joy and righteousness. My father’s days on this earth numbers 60 and he has thoroughly proven to be a faithful steward of God. For this he has much to rejoice in. Mother Clarke’s death is celebrated through men who live their lives like my father, Charles Washington.

Prayer for the Day: Father, let us find hope and joy in your presence. Help us to wholeheartedly grasp at opportunities to live our lives to the fullest in remembrance of your sacrifice and death for us and in remembrance of all those who you’ve called home. We pray that my dad, Brother Washington will continue to enjoy many more years on this earth and continue to rejoice in them all. Amen.

PS: 1. Please continue to pray for Winston Clarke- He is home and recovering.
2.Please pray for the Clarke/Washington family on the passing of sis Clarke
